Sean Miller, Drifting Cabinets: A Curious Collection of Gulf Biodiversity, 2018-2021.

The collection is housed in a series of vintage trunks, each addressing a different aspect of regional biodiversity. Trunks interiors and bell jar bases are retrofitted and made from polished inlaid wood recycled from regional architecture and trees lost in Hurricane Irma. Watercolor illustrations of gulf wildlife are produced with water from Florida hurricanes.

Miller curates, purchases, or in some cases fabricates specimen replicas through casts or molds or lathe turning.
